Dada was anti-art. It fought art with art, dada was to represent the opposite of what art meant. Dada also ignored aesthetics. Dada had no meaning.

Marcel Duchamp .
Dada was not a movement, but it was ' Artists ' that formed the word Dada. This formed just right after WW1 (World War 1). Horrors of war obviously left a major effect on the people, so the Dada wanted something to reject the -ism, nationalism, rationalism, materialism movement & to eliminate the senseless war.
After this description they also highlighted that the Dada will be a face off towards artists that create non-art ( since it does not have any meaning ).
But who was this Marcel Duchamp ?
Marcel did some kind of a Dada form by performing a kind of notable outrages by painting a mustache on a copy of the Mona Lisa.

- abstraction & expressionism were the main influences of Dada, followed by cubism, & to lesser extent, Futurism.
